UK trip, October 2008

Mike Heaton's Jam,
September 2008

April 19th.

We rented out the new Taz skatepark in Montreal a while back, it was extremely fun. The people who built it spared no expense in making it pretty much perfect. I strongly encourage making the trip to at least check it out. I took a couple of pictures while there and threw them together in a little gallery, so check it out.

In other news, the snow is pretty much competely gone here in Ottawa and everyone's been riding pretty consistently. Talks with the Orleans city councillors continues as we try to get a box jump built in the BMX section of the park, and nobody is building trails... same as usual.

March 20th.

For the many of you who missed metro weekend, you are fools. Every year its great, and every year I preach that you should all have gone, and every year you let something come in the way of you and fun. I'm not going to waste my time convincing you chumps anymore. Prashant has a pretty good write-up on Capital right now; check that out. I don't really have much to expand upon that, except that I loved our "no consequence weekend". Pyjama man will never leave home without a belt again...
Jorden, Rich and I all had the chance to visit Industry Skatepark, and while it isn't nearly as dialled as it used to be, it was really fun. Sketchy ramps are my favourite.

March 8th.

Well I hope people are appreciating the more frequent updates. I'm trying my best to keep you all entertained while you sit waiting for the snow to melt. Rich took a bunch of pictures at the warehouse a couple of days ago, we had a good time. I also put together a gallery of photos from the warehouse setup last year, which i'm pretty sure I never uploaded here.

The galleries are in flash format, so make sure you have flash on your computer, otherwise you're screwed.

March 5th.

I finally got the edit done from last weekend's session at the PVC plus warehouse. It was a pretty awesome time riding with Pat and Leland from Toronto on the old ramps we had in the clubhouse. The setup was pretty fun, nothing too crazy though. Check it out in on the video page, click the TV on the left.

I've got nearly 3000 hits on my 8mm video trailer. I got it put up on thecomeupbmx yesterday and that really spiked the views. It has gotten some pretty rad feedback too.

March 2nd.

Alot of people have been asking about the 8mm video I've been working on this past year. For anyone who is in the dark about this, I shot about a dozen rolls of 8mm film over the course of the summer and edited it up into a nice clean 15 minute film. Most of the footage was shot in Sweden and England, with a bit of Ontario thrown into the mix. I plan to have a premiere sometime in May; as I've heard rumours of an event at Centrepoint early this summer. The video wil be available on DVD afterwards as well. Its a pretty gnarly movie with a very different feel to it. Check out the video trailer here.

March 1st.

Hate this premiered Saturday night to a pretty impressive crowd at the Mayfair theatre in Ottawa. The video itself was a huge hit, big hype, big tricks and a solid musical lineup. Videos nowadays are rarely fun to watch, and even though Hate This can't compete with some of the riding being done by all those professional magicians these days its still a more entertaining disc to pop into your DVD player. I know Rich is selling them at Joe Mammas, so if you haven't already gone and picked one up, do it. Support local BMX. And for all you young'uns who couldn't come out for the party after the movie, I've got some pictures up.
